To celebrate the 90th anniversary of Koç Holding we took a lengthy trip back into the past. What we encountered was the story of Turkey itself.
"As long as my government and country are here, so am I." Vehbi Koç's famous promise explains exactly how we prefer to tell the story of how the past 90 years of Koç Holding have gone. When we look closely at the history of Koç Group, it's no coincidence that it corresponds directly with the history of Turkey. Since the early 20th century, Turkey and Koç Holding have walked together and grown together.
A country's economy will only develop once it is socially and culturally developed as well. This is not just the story of Koç's incredible investments starting from a small shop in Ankara and later spanning the globe, but it is about the values of Turkey. With Istanbul's Biennial, Galatasaray's UEFA Cup, Naim Süleymanoğlu's olympic medals, the smallest and largest economic and social investments represent our story and our values. The resulting film is as much Turkey's story as it is Koç's 90th anniversary film.
The original musical score that accompanies the film adds drama and depth to this story directed by Gökhan Mutlay. Pınar Toprak, who composed the music, began her film career as part of a crew with Oscar-winner Hans Zimmer, added her own award-winning success to the past 90 years and caught the rhythm of Turkey's development.
Sometimes longing, sometimes joy, sometimes with pride... Koç Holding and Turkey's last 90 years are here before you!
