This year we met with the first winners of the Mustafa V. Koç Sports Awards, and we made sure that the ceremony would be organized in line with the spirit of the award.
The first winners of the Mustafa V. Koç Sports Awards were Gizem Girişmen and Taha Akgül, receiving their awards to loud cheers on September 25th. The concept for the event that we produced received high praise and applause.
Every detail of the awards ceremony was carefully thought out and planned, from the design to the lighting and from the show to seating. Guests were treated with just as much care and thought. While the talk of the evening was centered around the awards for Taha and Gizem, one of the most striking moments of the evening was when Tony Britten took the stage.
Tony Britten is known best for the UEFA Champions League theme music, but this time he sat at the piano for the Mustafa V. Koç Sports Awards and played the award's main theme music, which he also composed. He personally conducted the orchestra for what was a breathtaking live performance at the awards ceremony.
One surprise accompanied the orchestra's performance. National gymnasts Selin Kılavuz and Elif Zeynep Celep put on a show with varying sets of music, rhythmic gymnastics and kinetic lights that all blended together for one incredible performance. The Olympic values of friendship, respect and excellence were truly on display as they touched both the minds and souls of all attendees.
The evening began with our special film prepared for Mustafa V. Koç. It continued with presentations by various speakers, among them Koç Holding Board Member and Mustafa V. Koç Sports Award Jury President Caroline N. Koç and Olympic Champion Sebastian Coe. The evening ended with a special film telling the stories of the award-winning athletes.
The overwhelming excitement lasted all night long!
