With its goal to become carbon neutral by 2050, Koç Holding launched the Carbon Transformation Program to map out the path toward a low-carbon economy. We brought together the Koç Group leaders spearheading this initiative in a film, where they shared insights into environmental issues and the efforts being carried out across Koç companies.
As the world faces the climate crisis, Koç Group is stepping forward with its strategy, Lead Together. Within this framework, it closely follows the European Union’s Green Deal, which is central to the fight against climate change and is expected to accelerate digital transformation while shaping a new model for economic growth. The roadmap outlined by the Group under the leadership of Koç Holding CEO Levent Çakıroğlu sets an example for companies across the country.
The Carbon Transformation Program, initiated within Koç Holding, is led by senior executives from Group companies—aptly named Carbon Transformation Leaders. Koç Group’s Environmental Board provides technical support for the initiative, which is coordinated by sustainability, finance, and strategic planning teams at Koç Holding.
In the film prepared for the online launch of the program, we hear from 13 Carbon Transformation Leaders representing 12 group companies. They speak on behalf of their teams—dozens of people committed to a shared goal—about their companies’ carbon neutrality targets, current actions, and future roadmaps. Leaders from Arçelik, Aygaz, Entek, Ford Otosan, Opet, Otokoç, Tofaş, Tüpraş, Türk Traktör, Yapı Kredi, Otokar, and Tat share their personal perspectives, individual motivations, and heartfelt messages. The purpose is clear: to inspire viewers with a sense of urgency and a desire to take part in this transformation.
Indeed, when you come together with them—even during a film shoot—you quickly find common ground. You realize that the climate crisis is not just a global challenge, but a deeply personal one. As Tat Production Deputy General Manager Hakan Turan says in the film’s closing: “We are all in a vehicle heading toward a dark place. There’s a final exit up ahead—but no one person can turn the wheel alone. I invite everyone to turn it together.”
