For Koç Holding’s 90th anniversary film, we embarked on a journey starting from the company’s founding days all the way to the present. Along the way, we encountered a magnificent story that walks hand in hand with the history of Turkey.
"As long as my government and country are here, so am I." Vehbi Koç’s famous words perfectly capture how we choose to tell the story of Koç Holding’s remarkable 90-year journey. When we take a closer look at the history of Koç Group, it’s no coincidence that it aligns so closely with the history of Turkey. Since the early 20th century, Koç Holding and Turkey have progressed side by side—growing and evolving together.
A country’s economy can only flourish when it is also socially and culturally enriched. This is not just the story of Koç’s extraordinary investments—starting from a small shop in Ankara and expanding across the globe—but also a reflection of Turkey’s values. From the Istanbul Biennial to Galatasaray’s UEFA Cup victory, from Naim Süleymanoğlu’s Olympic medals to both small-scale and large-scale economic and social initiatives—each represents our shared story and ideals. This film, created for Koç’s 90th anniversary, is as much a tribute to Turkey’s journey as it is to Koç Holding’s.
The original score that brings the film to life adds emotional depth and resonance. Directed by Gökhan Mutlay, the film features music composed by Pınar Toprak—who began her career alongside Oscar-winner Hans Zimmer and has since become an award-winning composer in her own right. Her score captures the spirit of the past 90 years and the rhythm of Turkey’s growth.
Sometimes filled with longing, at times with joy, and always with pride... the last 90 years of Koç Holding and Turkey now unfold before your eyes.
