How did millions of people come together and unite in emotion for a man they had never even met?
Mustafa V. Koç touched such a wide variety of people in so many different ways that his passing felt like a loss for the entire nation. Millions who had never met him (and barely knew him) came together at his funeral, finding common ground during one of the most divisive periods in Turkish history. Inspired by this remarkable truth, we decided to set Antrikot’s philosophy—“we don’t just design communication, we design culture”—into motion in our first documentary film: Mustafa V. Koç: Dreams and Memories.
Written by Kayhan Yavuz, directed by Gökhan Mutlay, and narrated by Nejat İşler, the project includes heartfelt reflections from key members of the Koç family—Ali Koç, Ömer Koç, Rahmi Koç, and Caroline Koç—as well as Semahat Arsel, Çiğdem Simavi, İnan Kıraç, İpek Kıraç, Bülent Eczacıbaşı, and Cem Boyner. Social media archives spanning years were scanned to find people who had interacted with Mustafa Koç, and their stories were included after contacting them. Other friends shared insights into his unique character, offering glimpses into his life from high school through university, and from his hobbies to the relationships he nurtured.
The documentary, using only the voices of its witnesses, becomes a visual feast through thousands of images from the Koç family’s private archives—some of them seen for the very first time. Mustafa V. Koç: Dreams and Memories gives those who never had the chance to meet him the opportunity to finally do so. It is the only documentary approved by the Koç family and reveals his extraordinary personality in full.
To live is not only to exist but to leave behind a beautiful memory. Mustafa Koç lived fully—and helped others live, too. He felt deeply, and helped others feel. He shared, and made sharing possible. He loved and was deeply loved. It became our task to reflect all of this on your screen, with sincerity.
